I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of January!
It's gone by so fast,
although while I was still pregnant it felt like it would never end.
I didn't have a post scheduled for today, but I am attempting to keep up with my Monday, Wednesday, Friday posting.
My brain feels like a fried egg from lack of sleep.
New baby? Nope...the toddler that got up at 4am and insisted on watching Curious George.
Recapping my January Resolutions following along with the Happiness Project and Happier at Home-o Clear my closets: Nope...however, it is a work in progress. I am working through maternity clothes into regular clothes. What a pain.
o Tackle a nagging task: I have been clearing out lots of junk to donate. I also finally cancelled a credit card that I haven't used for a billion years but still paid an annual fee for. I strongly dislike talking to anyone on the phone.
o Keep a food diary: Yep- It was full of cupcakes, pizza, and ice cream, but I kept one. Definitely makes transitioning into post pregnancy tracking easier!
o Restore, maintain, organize: I have delved into areas like deep in the kitchen cabinets and under the bathroom sink, I have a long way to go, but at least it's something!
o Use my to-do list: Every day!
o Identify the problem: Clutter is anxiety to me. As is dog hair. Gag. That will forever be the problem.
o Follow the “one-minute rule”: I have been abiding by this and it makes me feel like I never get a break. Most things can be done in one minute or less. Wipe down the counter, start the dishwasher, wipe out the sink, new roll of paper towels, and it goes on and on and on. Exhausting.
o Observe the evening tidy up: About 50% of the month I did. 10 minutes each night before bed to straighten up. I liked that I felt more relaxed in the morning and I felt like I had more time to get the day started. Days that I didn't complete it were out of pure tiredness.
§ Possessions· Cultivate a shrine· Go shelf by shelf· Read the Manual: This needs to be applied to my office/craft room. There is a lot of potential in there, but it always feel chaotic. Will work on....
Other resolutions for 2013:
Write in a one sentence journal every day: Yes! I did a quick recap here of my journal and the one I selected for Laithe. The only time I fell behind was when I was in the hospital, but we caught up as soon as I came home!
Read at least 50 books: I definitely tried to get a good head start on this. I haven't been able to read for the last week since Kai and I have been working through our first week post pregnancy. So far I have read 6 books and listened to 2 audiobooks. Not too shabby. Follow along with me here
Project Life: Uhhhh.....I've saved some things on Pinterest...we'll just pretend I was planning to do a month at a time all along.
Upload pictures and organize once a week: Yes, I've done a good job with this!
Overall, I would say I am doing a pretty good job. All things considered, I have stayed on top of the items that are the most important to me and to the overall organization of our house.
Friday I will be posting with February's goals, the theme of which is "Working on My Marriage"
